Team Brunel, the boat that is well known for its bright yellow hull, black sails and not to mention impressive racing results, now endorses a new name and a new look.

After sailing 2 editions in the Volvo Ocean Race, Team Brunel are now known as Childhood 1. Named after the global Childhood foundation, who work for disadvantaged children all across the world, Childhood 1 sails for the benefit of the foundation. Childhood 1 changed its name in October 2019. The foundation was founded by Queen Silvia of Sweden.

Every time Childhood 1 is raced, the coverage helps the recognition of the foundation, enabling new opportunities globally. The VO65 racing yacht Childhood I will compete across the Atlantic, participate in regattas in the Caribbean and in the 2020 edition of the Round Gotland Race in Sweden.

Team Brunel has successfully completed the Volvo Ocean Race, with a second place in the 2014-15 Race and a third place in 2017-18, with a campaign currently being organised for Childhood 1 to compete in the race that will start again in 2021.
