Ichi Ban – Carkeek 60

The Carkeek 60 was primarily designed for long offshore races – specifically the Rolex Sydney Hobart. Created between Matt Allen and Shaun Carkeek, the Ichi Ban is a relatively simple boat,  yet very powerful,  combining speed with strength.

Ichi Ban is the first Carkeek 60,  she is highly competitive and a strong contender for taking on offshore races. The boat has a rounded hull shape derived from the TP52s.

Ichi Ban is a great choice for crews who are interested in competing in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, the 628 nautical mile course, often described as the most gruelling long ocean race in the world.

Allen says:  “We’ve designed it to be a fast, powerful yacht with plenty of sail area, but also structurally sound, as I intend to campaign it in major ocean races most of the time and spend about a third of the time competing in regatta-style racing.”

Ichi Ban has just gone through a full service over haul and is fully race prepared!
