VO60 – Libertalia

This racing sailboat is a high- performance, extreme racing boat, offering superb performance in a very strong and durable hull. Libertalia is a large 65-foot monohull built for the open sea, incorporating excellent build quality.

This VO 60 was designed and built to race the Volvo Ocean Race 2001-02, the crewed round-the-world race. Hired under the name of Djuice Dragons, he was skippered by Knut Frostad, with Thomas Coville and Jean-Yves Bernot as Navigator as Shift Manager.

Libertalia is well organised and maintained and the food excellent.
Charles the skipper was a great seaman, very upfront and clear. He sailed the boat within the crews capability and also spent hours coaching the less capable crew on downwind helming. I would sail with him and the two deck hands again.
It was a fantastic opportunity and great to complete this challenging Round Britain and Ireland course.

Fantastic experience during the Rolex 50th Fastnet. Valdo and his professional crew were amazing. It's not often you can sail on a Volvo 60. Highly recommend LV Yachting for adventure sailing and offshore racing!
