Cowes Week is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events. Nearly 300 boats have already entered, and they are on track for the biggest entry for some years.
The 8,500 competitors range from olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors. In excess of 100,000 spectators come to watch the sailing, enjoy the parties and live entertainment, and to experience the unique atmosphere.
Racing takes place on the Solent, the strong tides and the changeable weather make for challenging sailing conditions and ensure competitive racing. The 8 day event combines competitive close quarters racing with superb shoreside entertainment and social events. There are few regattas in the world that can compare with Cowes Week.
The Cape 31 has proven itself at not only being a great boat for racing one-design, it is also extremely competitive under its IRC rating of 1.135 when taking on some of the UK’s top IRC designs. In 2021 the Cape 31 had some impressive results, winning multiple IRC events.

Pata Negra is a great example of this offshore pedigree and has a proven track record of podium results offshore including overall winner of the Round Britain Ireland 2018, 1st in class in the RORC Caribbean 600 2020 and 2nd in class in the Rolex Fastnet Race 2017.
