The course spans approximately 2,865 nautical miles, taking sailors through a range of weather conditions and ocean challenges. The race is open to a variety of boat types, including monohulls, multihulls, and classic yachts. He has also embarked on the dreaded Route du Rhum, a transatlantic race that stretches from Saint-Malo, France, to the Caribbean. He has also taken part in the Mini Transat, 3 Solitaires du Figaro and several Transat Jacques Vabre races.
Eric Defert’s career is not limited to monohulls; he has also ventured into the exhilarating world of multihull racing. His experience in various multihull classes, including MOD70, Ocean Fifty and Nacra 20, has reinforced his reputation as a versatile and skilled sailor.
