RORC Morgan Cup

This year’s Morgan Cup race will be going to Guernsey.
Unusually, while the RORC may run the Morgan Cup, the Royal Thames Yacht Club (RTYC) owns and administers the trophies awarded to the winners—including the prestigious Morgan Cup trophy, which was donated to the RTYC in 1929. This relationship goes back to the earliest days of the race in the 1930s when the RORC was involved in its running. The RTYC joined the RORC programme in 1950. The trophies are awarded to those fortunate enough to win at the RTYC Annual Dinner in London.
