RORC Nelson’s Cup Series
Date
The RORC Caribbean 600 has become a bucket-list offshore race for thousands of Corinthian and professional sailors. In 2023, the Royal Ocean Racing Club introduced the RORC Nelson’s Cup Series, offering 3 days of spectacular inshore racing ahead of the prestigious RORC Caribbean 600.
While many teams use the event to prepare for the RORC Caribbean 600, the Nelson’s Cup is a standalone series. In 2025, it attracted 35 entries, including 8 maxi yachts. Raced under the IRC rating rule and with the professional RORC race team, the event is expected to grow in strength and popularity.
The Nelson’s Cup delivers world-class racing of the South Coast of Antigua in the consistent trade winds that only the Caribbean can offer. With daily prize givings and shoreside celebrations combined with the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere, it is as much about camaraderie as it is about world-class racing.
Recordati from SY Bullitt – “The conditions this week have been exceptional; very challenging, to say the least, in terms of the sea state and wind. The courses have been extremely well laid out, the fleet was fantastic, it’s incredible how close the racing was. It’s really been a lot of fun – I would definitely come back.”
