AMERICAS CUP 2025
Catch the Action: Best Times for America’s Cup Racing!

The America’s Cup is coming to Barcelona, and it promises to be an incredible event. With so many races and activities, deciding when to book your yacht charter to watch the action can be as challenging as the event itself!

Here’s a guide to help you choose the best time to experience the excitement.

The Main Event:
37th America’s Cup Race Finals in October

The most obvious time to watch the races is during the America’s Cup Match Race Finals itself, scheduled for mid-October. This final showdown determines the ultimate winner, with no room for second place. The Defender: Emirates Team New Zealand, will face off against the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup (Challenger Selection Series). Each race will be a match race between these two elite teams and the victor will become the Defender of the 38th America’s Cup.

The Louis Vuitton Cup:
August to Early October

Before the final showdown, the Louis Vuitton Cup will take place determining which team will challenge the Defender. This series includes several top teams such as INEOS Britannia, Alinghi Red Bull Racing and NYYC American Magic. Spanning from late August to October 7th, these races are known for their intense competition and high stakes. The Louis Vuitton Cup offers a series of thrilling spectacles, making it an exciting period to watch the races.

Youth and Women’s America’s Cup:
Mid September to Mid October

The Youth America’s Cup and Women’s America’s Cup are also highlights of the event. These races feature 12 teams competing over eight races, eventually narrowing down to a head-to-head final. The youth and women’s teams consist of the next generation of foiling superstars, often delivering some of the most exciting and unpredictable racing of the entire tournament.

America's Cup J Class Regatta:
Early October

No history of the America’s Cup is complete without mention of the J Class, the magnificent sloops that competed for the trophy in three editions between 1930 and 1937.

These yachts with their remarkable history both in the America’s Cup and into the modern era are one of the true wonders of the sailing world and will draw much attention when they arrive in Barcelona whilst acting as an integral part of the America’s Cup celebrations.

Our tips to the best weeks for Chartering and watching the racing
