What to expect

Avel Vaez is one of the best high-performance catamarans ever built, as well as one of the fastest catamarans in the world!

This leg of the Mediterranean Sea crossing will take the crew from Palma in the Baleares Islands to Palermo on the island of Sicilia. After a week and more than 650 nautical miles, Avel Vaez will arrive in the city port of Palermo.

On this cruise, the target mileage is around 80 Nm per day including two long legs of 190 and 140 Nm each. In addition to these crossings, the route will follow the southern Sardinia coast and visit smaller islands.

Itinerary

Palma – Porto Cristo – 54 miles
Arrival on board, safety briefing and set sail directly to Menorca.

Porto Cristo – Menorca – 41 miles
First crossing between islands and arrival in Menorca Island.

Menorca – Isola Di San Pietro – 189 miles
This is a long sail, requiring good conditions.

Isola Di San Pietro – Porto Scudo – 31 miles
After the long cruise from the previous day, this is a short sail along the southern coast of Sardegna.

Porto Scudo – Campulongu – 42 miles
This is a great cruise along the southern coast of Sardegna.

Campulongu – Isola Marettimo – 139 miles
This is a serious crossing, between the two largest islands of the Med, Sardinia and Sicilia.

Isola Marettimo – Cala Rossa – 39 miles
This a short sail to the northwest of Sicilia coast.

Cala Rossa – Palermo – 38 miles
On the last day a short sail to arrive at the city of Palermo.

Avel Vaez is operated by a professional crew, ensuring fast, safe sailing for all clients. When you come aboard the ORC57, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in manoeuvres and navigation.
