What's included

The price includes; 2 training days and a preparation day before the race, 4 professional crew, all boat and race costs. Additional costs include flights and transfers, personal insurance, onshore accommodation, meals ashore and wet weather kit.

What to expect

Considered as one of the great 600 mile ocean race challenges, the RORC Caribbean 600 is set against a backdrop of crystal clear turquoise seas, big waves and big wind. The race does not have a time limit, so we would recommend booking a flexible return flight ticket.

Wednesday 18th – Crew Arrive
Thursday 19th – Welcome, introduction and training
Friday 20th – Antigua 360 race
Saturday 21st- Training day
Sunday 22nd – Boat preparation and race briefing (no sailing)
Monday 23rd – Race start
Friday 27th – Prize-giving

Crew information

The Skipper is Gerwin Jensen whose sailing experience includes 6 Atlantic crossings, 5 Sydney Hobart races, 4 RORC 600, 4 Rolex Middle Sea Races and 2 Rolex Fastnet Campaigns.

Boat Captain, Oliver Kobale, has over 70,00 miles experience on Volvo 65.

Rapahel Hussl, bow/crew, has more than 20,00 miles experience on Volvo 65 and has completed the RORC 600 and Middle Sea Race.

Konstantin Kobale, Trim/crew, has more has more than 20,000 miles experience on Volvo 65 and has completed the RORC 600 and Middle Sea Race.

Prerequisite experience

Previous offshore racing experience is required. We would also strongly encourage you to have completed your ISAF Offshore safety and sea survival

Where

The RORC Caribbean 600 is based from Antigua Yacht Club in Falmouth Harbour on the South Coast of Antigua.

There are good international connections to Antigua with direct flights from many major airports via British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, U.S Airlines, Delta, American Airlines and Continental Airlines.

Accommodation

Accommodation ashore will be needed in the days before the race. Good options in Antigua can be found on Airbnb.
