WAY OF LIFE is quite simply an iconic Super Maxi 86, with an enviable racing history across the globe.

Formerly known as MORNING GLORY, WAY OF LIFE stands as an iconic Super Maxi 86 with a remarkable racing legacy spanning the globe. This record-breaking canting keel Super Maxi, meticulously crafted by McConaghy Boats, has firmly established its presence in both the USA and Mediterranean Maxi racing circuits since its inception.

Originally built alongside PYEWACKET as a sistership, WAY OF LIFE embodied cutting-edge technology and design principles of the time, centered around the innovative CBTF (Canting Ballast Twin Foil) system. Its immediate triumphs in prominent offshore races garnered worldwide attention, revolutionizing the sailing world’s perception of canting keel technology. Notably, its hull design, relatively narrow compared to today’s broader racing vessels, emphasizes the pivotal role played by the canting keel in achieving stability.

One of WAY OF LIFE’s standout features is its ingenious rotating canard or forward rudder, which can be controlled independently or synchronized with the main rudder, showcasing an exceptional level of sophistication.

While it might not be as dominant in reaching conditions, it remains highly competitive in VMG (Velocity Made Good) and flat water, holding its own against the world’s most formidable yachts.

In recent years, operating under the moniker VESPER PI, this vessel has clinched line honours against some of the Mediterranean’s swiftest Maxis. It demonstrated its competitiveness in the 2019 Rolex Capri Sailing Week and has consistently excelled in the prestigious Barcelona race.

Under new ownership, WAY OF LIFE has undergone substantial revitalization with significant investments. In 2019, it received replacement PBO standing rigging, effectively reducing weight aloft and enhancing its performance. Furthermore, the yacht boasts an extensive sail wardrobe.

This extraordinary vessel continues to secure line honours victories and remains an exceptional and agile choice for both offshore and inshore racing, epitomizing the pinnacle of sailing excellence.
