The RORC was founded in 1925 to encourage long distance yacht racing and the design, building and navigation of sailing vessels in which speed and seaworthiness are combined. Today the club encourages ocean, long distance and other forms of yacht racing and yachting activity.

World ARC is a round-the-world adventure taking place over 14 months and covering 26,000 nautical miles. Following the classic trade winds route, the rally avoids regions of political instability, piracy and the storm seasons in both hemispheres. World ARC is a mix of cruising in company and free time to explore. The pace of the rally allows the fleet to stay together, and to enjoy shore-side activities as a group

The RORC Caribbean 600 has become a bucket-list offshore race for thousands of Corinthian and professional sailors. In 2023 the Royal Ocean Racing Club introduced the RORC Nelson’s Cup Series offering 3 days of inshore racing ahead of the RORC Caribbean 600. In 2025 the event attracted 35 entries include 8 stunning maxi yachts. Raced under the IRC rating rule and with the professional RORC race management the event is expected to continue to grow in strength and popularity. In 1995, the beautiful island of St Barths hosted its first Bucket Regatta and it has done so in March every year since then. Although the size of the yachts and competing fleet has grown significantly, the spirit of the event has remained unchanged. In recent years, 40 or more superyachts have gathered to compete for the Bucket. As the Bucket Regatta has evolved, the organisers have kept a tight focus on maintaining the original camaraderie and non-commercial spirit of the event. It was, and still is, an event conceived and hosted purely for the pleasure and enjoyment of the sailing superyacht owner. There is no other regatta of magnitude on the superyacht racing circuit with the same goals, and the event organisers consider themselves the stewards of a most worthwhile tradition.
