The price includes the crossing, weather training, all boat and race costs and safety equipment. Two nights in Bermuda (either onboard on in a hotel) and one night in Lorient. Additional costs include flights, transfers, additional accommodation and meals ashore, wet weather kit and personal insurance.
Jean-Pierre Dick offers you the chance to join La Loévie for a record attempt between Bermuda and Lorient, as part of the Pure Ocean Challenge 2025. The reference time to beat is Jean-Pierre Dick’s record from 2023 – Notre Méditerranée – Ville de Nice in 11 days, 8 hours, 16 minutes and 23 seconds.
The departure will be from the Bermuda archipelago from May 6th 2025.
A provisional timetable will be drawn up during 2024 winter, it will include:
– One day weather training, face to face (location to be confirmed) with Christian Dumard (or equivalent trainer) Christian is an ocean racing router with many years of experience.
– Training on onboard La Loévie – crew will participate in 3 days of sailing training either in the West indies between January and April 2025 or in St Georges, Bermuda before the challenge
– Arrival in Bermuda the week before the challenge
– Tuesday 6th May – start line open for the record attempt
You will be part of a crew of 8 people including Jean-Pierre Dick as the skipper, an assistant skipper and 6 passionate amateurs. Jean-Pierre holds a Captain 200 Sailing certificate.
An interview with Jean-Pierre Dick will be required to assess experience.
