Aragon – Maarten 72

Sailing yacht Aragon is the perfect choice for competitively sailing in offshore/inshore racing while retaining comfort. The Reichel Pugh 72 was commissioned by a performance-oriented owner with a remarkable family history of racing lineage. Aragon was the overall winner of the 2016 RORC TransAtlantic Race.

Designed first and foremost to be an outstanding performer in Mediterranean conditions, ARAGON is constructed from Carbon Fibre and Nomex. This ensures lightweight characteristics and complements a hull shape that contributes to a swift and agile, yet comfortable and robust ride.

In construction, the most advanced concepts of pre-preg carbon fibre materials were used, resulting in a hull, deck and structure that meets the high standard that all racing yachts from the drawing board of Reichel Pugh are renowned for.

Yachting Developments completed the yacht in February 2006, and the boat was then shipped to Europe where it joined the summer race circuit in the same year. She has been racing competively since then by the Owners who have maintained and upgraded her to the highest levels.
